The Compact Edition of the Oxford English Dictionary. 1971 edition. Each set is in good condition and includes two volumes in a box and a magnifying glass. Two sets are available. Price is $25 each.
Winston Churchill: His Memoirs and Speeches, 1918-1945. This includes 11 12-inch LPs and a companion book. The albums and books are house in a sturdy box and are from a special numbered edition numbered 1670. Price is $50.
Library of America. This collection includes 41 titles from Library of America, a nonprofit that preserves America’s best and most significant writings. The books are handsomely bound and all but one has the original cardboard sleeve from the publisher. The books are in excellent condition. Buy the whole set for $350 or individual titles for $15 each. Click here for a list of available titles.
Philadelphia Orchestra: The Centennial Collection. This 7-volume, 12-disc set includes booklets for each volume and an overall booklet in original jewel case and a collector's case. The set is a collection of historic broadcasts and recordings from 1917-1998. The release date was January 1, 2000. The set is in very good condition. The price is $50.
Every fall letters are mailed to residents and library users seeking donations. Financial support from residents is critical in providing quality library services to residents living in Edgewood, Braddock Hills, Forest Hills, Churchill and Wilkins.
The 2017 Book Sale will be held March 17-21, 2017.
Every March, the library holds a book sale in the ballroom and living room of the Edgewood Community House. Over 9,000 books and audio-visual items for adults and children are offered for sale during this four-day event.
The library accepts donations for the sale throughout the year. We are happy to write letters for tax purposes. Volunteer help is also needed during the year. More information is available in February.
English High Tea (formerly known as the Downton Abbey Tea)

Arts and Crafts Fair
The 2017 Arts and Crafts Fair will be held on TBD.
C.C. Mellor Memorial Library, the Edgewood Fire Department, and the Edgewood Garden Club have teamed up so that you can do one-stop shopping at the Edgewood Arts and Crafts Fair. The sale will be held in the Ballroom of the Edgewood Community House.
You’ll find items from 30 local artists including gift baskets, pottery, pet items, paintings and photographs, fiber art, jewelry and much more.
The Edgewood Garden Club’s greens sale offers wreaths, garlands, a variety of poinsettias, orchids and hand-tied bows for sale. Greens should be preordered. There will be some items available for sale at the fair.
Luminaria kits, which benefit the Edgewood Fire Department, can also be purchased for $10 each.
Each of the vendors in the sale has donated an item for a raffle which will be conducted through the first weeks of December. Tickets are $1 for 1, $5 for 7, and $10 for 20. Buy them at the sale or at the Fred Rogers Children’s Room.
From September through December 31, the library has Enjoy Books available for sale. Books are available for $30 at the Adult and Children’s desks and at the Forest Hills Library. Use your Enjoy coupons at restaurants for lunch or dinner, for services such as dry cleaning and car washes, and at fast food chains, golf courses, movie theaters and more. Coupons are good now through October 31, 2017.
