C. C. Mellor Memorial Library has an immediate opening for a part-time position as Youth Programming Library Assistant.  The hours are Tuesdays 3 to 8 p.m., Wednesdays 3 to 8 p.m., and one to two Saturdays per month.  Starting pay is $14.21 an hour.  

In this position, you will be responsible for planning and implementing youth programs, including drop-in after school and evening programs specifically for tweens and teens. You will attend county trainings as necessary and periodically supervise volunteers. You will also assist patrons by checking out library materials, locating information and assisting with basic computer usage.  You can also expect to shelve and perform basic library maintenance as necessary. You should expect to work from both our Edgewood and Forest Hills locations and occasional locations within the community for special events. 

We are a busy community library with two locations that serve patrons of all ages.  A genuine desire to work with people, particularly children, teens, and families, is a MUST for this job.  We have a fantastic community and a well-utilized library and are excited to expand our team.  

Applicants must have at minimum a college degree, pass background checks, and have computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.  Applicant must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, and lift at least 30 pounds.
