This program is designed to show you 5 easy steps to turn your photographs (and other memorabilia) into a special personal history book that can be shared with your friends, family, and future generations. Join photo and personal history enthusiast Jody Shapiro for an hour-long program and discussion where she will guide you through the process of assembling your own personal history.

Spot Invasive Species in Your Backyard

Join Lindsey-Rose Flowers from the Nine Mile Run Watershed Association to learn about invasive plants and a new invasive insect in our area, the Spotted Lanternfly (SLF).  Class will cover basic SLF background and best practices for managing the insect as well as tips for making your yard an invasive-free zone.

How to Make a Sourdough Starter

Ever wanted to keep a sourdough starter for baking delicious bread? In this program, we go over the basics of “capturing” your own wild culture, and how to feed and care for it. We also cover basic use in recipes and long-term storage options.

Chloe Newman is the owner, founder, and head-baker of Crust Worthy, a small-scale community-supported bakery in Pittsburgh, PA. Her baked goods are primarily sourdough-based, focusing also on whole grains, minimally-processed ingredients, and local, seasonal ingredients when possible.Register online for this program at ccmellorlibrary.eventbrite.com.
