Support a local library: C.C. Mellor Memorial Library to hold 2026 Annual Book Sale fundraiser
PITTSBURGH (Feb. 9, 2026) – C.C. Mellor Memorial Library is thrilled to hold the 2025 Annual Book Sale, taking place March 6-9 at the Edgewood Club located at 1 Pennwood Ave. The Book Sale is the library’s biggest event of the year where the community gathers to shop the collection of over 15,000 donated items and show their support for the library.
The weekend will kick on with a preview/shop early night from 6-9 p.m. Friday, March 6. Admission will be $20 at the door; dealers and scanners are welcome.
The main sale will be held from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. March 7 and 8. Everyone is invited to come and shop from the best selection of donated books, movies and music from generous community members.
During the preview and main sale days, prices are:
- Adult books – $2
- Small mass market paperbacks – $1
- Children’s and young adult books – $0.50
- Audiobooks, DVDs and video games – $2
- CDs – $1
Who doesn’t love a deal? From 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. on March 9 shoppers can fill a bag for only $6 or a box for $10. The Book Sale is plastic free, so everyone is encouraged to bring their own bag or purchase a CCM branded tote bag.
All proceeds from the sale benefit the library. As the largest fundraiser of the year, every item purchased directly helps to safeguard the future of CCM and ensure that library services remain accessible to all residents in the service area.
The annual event has become a favorite in the local communities.
“The Book sale is one of my favorite events of the year, as well as our largest fundraiser. It’s amazing to see our community come out to support the library and each other. We wouldn’t be able to do an event of this magnitude without the generous support of everyone who donates, volunteers, and shops every year. I’m looking forward to another great book sale.”
