Recruiting Board of Trustees Members for the C.C. Mellor Memorial Library & Edgewood Community House

The Board of Trustees is interested in receiving letters of interest from individuals who:

  • Are passionate about libraries
  • Will advocate for the CCM
  • Will work to ensure adequate library and building funding
  • Have experience working or volunteering with non-profits, public goods, fundraising, and/or finance

The Trustees are responsible for providing quality library service to residents of five municipalities and maintaining the historic building in Edgewood.

CCM strives to provide equitable access to library materials and programming to over 20,000 people in five municipalities. We do this through our main library in Edgewood, our branch location in Forest Hills, myriad of outreach opportunities, and our robust online presence.

We are eager to bring on Trustees to help us maintain our excellent staff, services, and programming as well as achieve sustainable funding to continue our mission and carry out major building improvements.

Desired Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Ability to attend at least six meetings a year and actively support library projects and events
  • Ability to work as a liaison with the community
  • Three-year volunteer commitment
  • Experience and/or knowledge of the duties of a non-profit board member, Robert’s Rules of Order, non-profits, fundraising and/or finance
  • Resident of Braddock Hills, Churchill, Edgewood, Forest Hill, or Wilkins Township
