A Century of Stories, A Future of Possibilities

Join the community effort to secure our 100-year-old Pennwood Avenue building by replacing the leaky roof and modernizing spaces that children, teens, and adults depend on for education, entertainment, and connection.

We need your help!

Through several grants and generous donations from local community members, we have already raised approximately $2.5 million towards our goal, but there is still work to be done to ensure that we can complete the roof replacement and transform the second floor of our library. With your donations, we hope to raise another $20,000 to cross the finish line!

Project Background

In 2023, we conducted a community survey to learn about what our patrons want from their library.

What we heard:

  • Our community needs meeting room capacity for individuals, small groups, and large groups to gather.
  • Our community wants more programming.
  • Our community deserves an accessible space.
  • Our staff needs dedicated workspace.
  • Our community needs safety.

With support from the community, CCM launched an exciting renovation project to secure the 100-year-old building while modernizing and expanding spaces to support discovery, growth, connection, and enrichment.

The Project

The campaign will help the library address a number of pressing needs, including a roof replacement, second floor transformation, and accessibility and safety improvements.

  • Preserve our Building: New synthetic roof that maintains a classic look
  • Expand Meeting Spaces: Versatile rooms for programs and gatherings
  • Enhance our Children’s Room: Refreshed first-floor children’s room
  • Improve Safety & Energy Efficiency: Modern lighting, a new boiler, and upgraded alarms to enhance safety and reduce costs and environmental impacts
  • Better Accessibility: Improve facilities for families, people with disabilities, and caregivers
