NOTE REGARDING COVID-19 LIBRARY CLOSURE: CCM is not accepting book donations while the library is closed. Please hang on to them for now! We will be accepting book donations again at a future date TBD.
C.C. Mellor Memorial Library’s book sale is our biggest fundraiser of the year, with more than 15,000 items on sale over five days.
The book sale is held annually in March.
2020 Book Sale: March 6-10
The weekend will kick off with a preview party for area residents and their guests on Friday, March 6 at 6 p.m., hosted by the library’s community groups. Dealers and scanners are welcome at the preview party.
Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8 are the main sale days. Monday, March 9 and Tuesday, March 10 are bag sale days. Fill a grocery bag for $6. Bring your own bag or get one at the sale.

Sunday, March 8 – 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

I love the book sale! How can I help?
Looking to lend a hand with this year’s book sale? There are many ways you can help CCM have a successful sale:
DONATE. Doing some spring cleaning? We’re happy to include your unwanted books, movies and music in the sale so they can find new homes! Your donated items allow us to raise funds for new library materials.
Due to the volume of materials CCM has received this year, we will NOT be accepting book donations between March 1 and March 31. If you would like to donate books to the sale, please drop them off before March 1. Donations may be made at CCM Edgewood only.
CCM will begin accepting donations for next year’s book sale in April.
VOLUNTEER. An event of this size requires many helping hands! We will need volunteers to help set up for the sale and clean up afterwards. If you’re interested in volunteering, sign up at CCM Edgewood or email Erin Pierce at email@example.com.
SHARE. Let your friends and family know about the book sale! Follow CCM on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and share our event and posts about the book sale. Take some flyers and post them in your neighborhood. Tell your neighbor, your barista, your mailman, your Uber driver… help us get the word out about this great event!
SHOP. Shop the sale on any of the five sale days. Come on Saturday and Sunday to get the best selection or wait until Monday and Tuesday to get a bargain at the bag sale! Attend the preview party on Friday night and enjoy refreshments and socialization while getting the first look at what’s available at the sale.
CCM accepts donations of materials in good condition. Please DO NOT leave materials that are moldy, wet, or otherwise damaged, contaminated or unusable.
Items should be boxed (not bagged or loose) and left in the front hallway of CCM Edgewood under the stairs. We cannot accept any donations at CCM Forest Hills. To receive a receipt for your donation, fill out a donation form at either circulation desk at CCM Edgewood.
We cannot accept magazines, encyclopedias, cassettes, VHS. Books and magazines may be recycled at Construction Junction.
We are happy to accept DVDs, CDs, textbooks and condensed books.
